Science behind feeding Crows first - Do crows detect poison?!

No moon day has the significance of serving foods to crows before we would eat. But why specifically crow??? Let us see the scientific reason behind this practice.

Crow is a well-known bird found near our locality. People say that crows are considered our ancestors. So feeding them with food firstly sounds weird. Well scientifically speaking, the crow is one of the cleverest birds in the world. The brain size of the crow is larger than other birds compared to its body size. Crows can even memorize human faces, things, they can learn lessons, and lots more. And crows have the highest sensing ability.
So the main reason for feeding the crows food initially is their sensing ability. Crows could sense poison or toxic substances present in food. They can detect the presence of poison in any food served. It can sense the presence of poison or toxins in food.
Mixing poison in foods and serving that to people was a common method used in ancient times to kill people. Especially, kings, kingsmen, millionaires of that period faced a greater threat to this poison attack. So, to avoid this our ancestors requested us to serve the food firstly to crow. We would have generally heard our elders saying, that we should start eating the food only after the crow eats it. Because crows eat the food only when it is nonpoisonous. And it will leave back the food mixed with poison. So in this case, if the crow rejects the food served, no one must have it. This is just to prevent us from eating poisonous food. And this is the reason for serving them first.
In the olden days, our elders used to feed crows daily with food to test them. But in recent times the purpose of this practice has been completely changed and we feed the crow only on No moon days considering them ancestors.

Though there is no scientifically proven evidence for this fact. But this is the reason familiarly stated in Wikipedia and some news articles.
Though we praise domestic crows on one side, we always consider the jungle crows inauspicious. Do you know why?? This jungle crow is dark black in color and is bigger in size compared to domestic crows. They possess the stamina to fly over several miles in search of prey. But domestic crow cannot do this. In ancient days, these jungle crows fly over several miles to the war field and eat the dead remains present there. So the microorganisms present in the dead remains will stick onto the crow. So after eating when it comes to our home or staying nearby our home it will result in the spread of germs that may spread various diseases to humans. To avoid their entry in and around our house, they said this jungle crow to be inauspicious.
And yes!!! This is the reason why we consider domestic crow auspicious and jungle crow inauspicious.
